How To: Mickey Mouse Birthday Theme

This past weekend, we had my daughters first birthday party. And it was (of course) the theme of her all time favorite show, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse... And it was ADORABLE! I had so many questions on social media on where I got everything, that I figured I would do a whole blog post on how I created it so some of you could recreate it for your little one!

I had this party in Illinois at my parents house in the Chicago Suburbs. So I had a local bounce house company set up the bounce house and a local bakery in Plainfield, Illinois called Milettes Cakes do all the cakes and treats. I sent them the inspiration images I found on Pinterest and they recreated it for me. We also had Portillos catered (only in Illinois- a few in AZ and CA) so we could serve 'hot diggity dog' hotdogs while, of course, dancing to the 'Hotdog Dance'.

ALL decorations were from Amazon. I know, can you believe it? Amazon rocks! I bought Mickey Mouse ears for everyone to wear (click HERE to buy) and made a cute chalk board sign directing everyone to grab a pair. The lovely illustration of Mickey Mouse was by my mother, Diane and calligraphy by me. I got all the inspiration from Pinterest. All these banners and ears were amazing quality by the way, would highly reccommend.

HOW COOL IS THIS BALLOON ARCH?!?!? And yes, I made that. It took me 4 hours, but I did it! They sell balloon arch kits on Amazon now (click HERE to buy) and they are pretty damn cool and fairly easy. I did this all by myself but would defiantly reccomend having help for it to go faster. I also bought a handheld ballon pump (click HERE to buy) from Amazon to use to blow up all the balloons, or else I would have pasted out. For installation, I used Command hooks and hung it on the wall with the string that comes with the kit. This is defiantly a 3 person task. This balloon arch is huge.

And that's it! I hope you recreate your own Mickey Mouse wonderland for your little one. Feel free to send my pictures to my Instagram @daniellemsheppard, I would love to see them!
